FST 001 Bazooka Cain - Viele Grüße
There was a time when the world
was full of sunny Sundays, when the Italian Riviera was the hottest spot, when
Catherine Deneuve was considered the most desirable woman in the world, only
surpassed by the new sensibility of Jean Seberg, a time between Gainsbourg and
Mantovani, between the Champs Elysées and Saint Tropez. Bazooka Cain have
preserved this time musically as well as stylistically. Viele Grüsse" is
their debut album, and one of the most appealing 60's albums recorded in the
90's. Now in their eleventh year, the quartet, featuring German/Spanish singer
and author MARCEL VEGA, is probably the sole gentlemen band that can claim the
word elegance their own.
"They are cosmopolitan and polyglot - in other words: convincingly smart!
At home in the world of popular music they present an exciting selection of
sounds: chanson, beat, orchestral crooning and much more. Kindred spirits with
Joe Dassin, Momus and Bill Pritchard they have a talent for exquisite and
piquant entertainment. The lyrics, sung in German, French, Spanish and English
tell a story of life's and love's twists and turns; euphoria, tragedy, and
bitter sweet melancholy described with charm and finesse.
