Happy Dead Men
One of our favourite bands from Sweden. So far they have done three fantastic
LP's and one compilation. "Tomorrow" is an unreleased track recorded
in 1999. Check out their homepage.
Goldstoned
Mastermind Patrick Goldstein writes great poptunes for ages. He had done four
fine albums (one under the name Caroline Now!) and a 7" on our label which
is nearly sold out shortly after it has been released. Watch out for more soon.
"Wherever" is an appetizer from his fourth LP "Our Man in
Soulburbia" while "Buffy" is a radical dance version of his
massive FST-Hit "Goldchild".
The Fourth Dimension
Hail from Norwich in the U.K. They play timeless guitarpop in the style of The
TVP's or The Stone Roses. This is their first proper release with many to follow
hopefully. Catch them via: dc.co@btinternet.com.
Florian Glaessing
Great german songwriter who had recorded many songs under the assumed name Himmel.
For unknown reasons the songs never saw the light of the day. "Im
Kino" was produced by Tom Liwa (Flowerpornoes)
& Marcus Holzapfel.
Chesterton
Bright new swedish hopes. Right now they have finished their third
demo."From rocket to submarine" was taken from the bands first session
and is a very good example of how swedish popmusic should sound like. Write
them: chesterton@hotmail.com.
Shy
Our longtime heros from Austria. After a single for the Motorway Label in Japan
the guys are back in the studio to record their new LP. "Weiter &
Weiter" was taken from the bands third album. Here you can find a lovely
remix of it.
Silent Boys
From the USA into your hearts. Composer Wallace Dietz writes great guitar pop
tunes in the direction of classic U.K. acts from the past days like Might
Mighty, Felt or The Close
Lobsters. "Don't take love for the granted" was taken
from the bands new demo. Hear them also on the "Seven
Summers" Compilation. Send a mail to: wycee@aol.com.
Space Kelly
After a long time being a solo artist mastermind Ken Steen is now fronting a
great fourpiece band, which feat. band members of Spy
or Blochin 81. At the end of last year they had
released the famous "Die schoensten Maedchen gibt es in Amsterdam"
Single. "Ich mag keine Aubergine" is an outtake from those single
session. Contact: helmut@lounge-records.de.
Bazooka Cain
Maybe the best german band ever. The band now is recording the followup to the
FST-megaseller "Viele Gruesse" from 1998. "Here come the
days" is a fab new song and shows the band from their very relaxed side.

!
The Budapest Fanzine
This band hail from Budapest as the name says. Since 1996 they have done some
fine works which can be found on the bands first longplayer "Hollow".
"Interior" is a great trumpet driven popsong which will remind you of
the finest moments of Gentle Tuesday or Holiday.
Write to: imi@median.hu.
Markus von Schwerin
Also a great Berlin based songwriter. He plays a wonderful jazzy guitarsound
which will let you think of The Crooner's greatest
moments.
The Did
Four guys from Falskoeping in Sweden. They play fast and warm poptunes.
"Jumpy me" was recorded in studio Kapelett and was produced by the
band and Pelter Lanz. Send letter via: kretter@2.sbbs.se.
Hot Rain
Band from the U.K. and lifetime faves from the FST-crew. In the past they had
recorded many gorgeous singles on their own Pinetree Records. Last year saw
their first release on FST records with the mighty "Why couldn't it be this
way" single. This band can be also found on our forthcoming compilation
"The Sound of Leamington Spa". Order all their stuff and send big love
to: pinetree_records@hotmail.com.
Komeit
Fresh new band from our hometown. The press call them the german Belle
& Sebastian. We think they're more. A girl and a boyplaying
the slowest sounds you could immagine. Watch out for their first LP which will
be out this summer. Meanwhile hear more on their 10" which is out now on
Lok-Records. Take a look at their homepage or write to: christian.flor@art-bag.net.
October
They're from Sweden too and also great to listen to. This band plays wonderful
pop smashers you will fall in love with. The band is still in the studio to
record some new tracks to release their first proper record.
"Dreamworld" was taken from the band's first demo. Meet up with the
guys via: par.from@swipnet.se.
Copenhagen
Very new band from London. Their first single will be out in the next weeks on
Super 8 Recordings, home of the also cool band Heist. Catch them on one of their
many live gigs if you visit London the next time. They can be contacted at copenhagen@kirsa.prestel.co.uk.
Neil Armstrong
Young and very good guitar / indiepop band from Sweden. Had some releases on
split singles and compilations but unfortunately not a record on their own until
today. This must end ! Send your cheques to: pontus-nilsson@telia.com.
Pillow
This band contains the members Erik Domelloef, Mans Fellesson, Stefan Olofsson,
Lennart Sandgren, Torgny Sandgren and Lars Strand. Last year saw their second
release, the great "Intruder" EP on FST. "Overruled by you"
was taken from the bands new demo and feat. Anders Sundquist on clarinet. Write
a mail to Sweden: stefan.olofsson@mbox310.swipnet.se.
Delons
After Myslovitz the second good indiepop band we know from Poland. They mix
tradional Sarah sounds with Wedding Present guitars.
Member Darek has also a nice mailorder for indie items. You can reach the band
via: indie@priv2.onet.pl.
Yet and another thing to mention: for just $2 (europe) or $3 (world) you can
order your personal copy of a 4 song appetizer-tape incl. tracks from the
forthcoming album. Not enough though, you will also get a $1 discount on the
album, if you order that preview tape...just drop the band a note !
Rockformation Diskokugel
Hail from Hessen in Germany. With the fantastic last year release on Apricot
Records they get many votes in the Year Poll on Twee Net. One of the best live
acts we've ever seen. "Schluss mit lustig" is maybe the best track
they had recorded so far and will be a classic soon. We love this band. More
infos: Diskokugel@aol.com.
Desert Wolves
Who are the Desert Wolves ? That is what a lot of people have asked us lately.
We can explain it very simple: The Desert Wolves were one of the best groups
from Manchester in the late 80ties. You might argue now: "And the why
haven't i heard of them until today ?" And we will reply: Quite easy. In
1987/88 the band put out two great singles on the Ugly Man label, where Black
released his first single, Man From Delmonte one
7" and two 12"s (now rereleased on Vinyl Japan) and Too
Much Texas, while being fronted by Tom Hingley, later singer of
The Inspiral Carpets, had a great 12".
Sensation
Metro Trinity was the beginning of Jonny Male's
musical journey, which begann back in 1987 with the post Kitchenware-C86esque EP
"Die Young". In 1989, after being introduced to Chicago House Music he
teamed up with Guy Batson and Jhelisa Anderson to begin the project Soul
Family Sensation . Their debut album "New Wave" (on One
Little Indian) was praised by the British press and with their single "I
don't even know if i should call you baby" the band had their first club
and chart success. Shortly after this, Jhelisa left the band to work with The
Shamen and Jonny and Guy decided to shorten the name to Sensation.
